    Apr.14(Wed.) Campus Walking Tour (Toyonaka B.S.P.)

    Apr. 14th, (Wed.), 2021, 12:00- “Campus Walking Tour” was held by Toyonaka B.S.P. on Toyonaka campus. The number of participants were 7 international students and 7 local students. B.S.P. members guided them to useful places on Toyonaka campus. After the evet, they enjoyed chatting and playing cards at CIEE Toyonaka Branch.

    Welcome Walk (Suita B.S.P.)
    Apr. 12, (Mon.), 2021, 15:30- “Welcome Walk” was held by Suita B.S.P. on Suita campus. The number of participants were 6 international students and 4 local students. They were divided into two teams, Japanese and English, and senior students guided the locations of Suita Campus that they are familiar with to the new students, based on an original Campus Map made by B.S.P. members.

    2021ss OUSSEP Orientation

    2021年4月7日(水)の13:30〜15:00に、OUSSEP学生向けのオリエンテーションをハイブリッド形式で実施しました。

    15名の学生が対面で、24名の学生がオンラインから参加しました。

    コロナ禍でも元気な姿を見ることができて安心しました。

    今しかできない経験をたくさんしてほしいと思います。

     

    The OUSSEP Orientation was held both in person and online on Wednesday, April 7, 13:30 -15:00.

    15 students came to the face-to-face orientation, and 24 students participated via ZOOM.

    We were really glad to know they enjoy the OU life.

    We hope they also have precious experience during this semester.

    Campus Tour (Toyonaka B.S.P.& OUISA)

    Apr. 5th, (Mon.), 2021, 12:30- Prior to the Guidance for International students enrolled in 2021, “Campus Tour” was held by Toyonaka B.S.P. & OUISA on Toyonaka campus.
    The number of participants were 8 international students. After the tour, they enjoyed chatting and playing cards at CIEE Toyonaka Branch.

    3/19(Fri.)@Toyonaka, 3/30(Tue.)@Suita Relieving Stress~Some tips for international students~

    Center for International Education and Exchange (CIEE) and Health and Counseling Center (HaCC) co-hosted this event both in Toyonaka Campus (March 19, language: English) and Suita Campus (March 30, language: Japanese) The aim of this event were to provide some hints for relieving stress for international students who seemed to live a stressful life by the influence of the new coronavirus and so on, and to create opportunities for them to interact among themselves and exchange opinions.

    On Toyonaka Campus, 4 onsite, 6 online, 10 in total,
    On Suita Campus, 5 onsite, 2 online, 7 in total students participated.

    The event, moderated by Associate Professor OKAMOTO (CIEE), started with the opening remarks by Director ARIKAWA (CIEE), followed by the lecture from Professor Mizuta (Deputy Director, HaCC) who gave hints and tips on relieving stress for international students. Participating students actively shared their ideas on stress relief in the second half group sessions facilitated by Associate Professor Okamoto (online) and Specially Appointed Associate Professor Uosaki (in person).

    After the event, participants moved to CIEE Toyonaka branch and Information Room for International Students (IRIS), and kept interacting among themselves.

    “I tend to live an irregular life, but I will try to live a regular life taking the advice from Professor Mizuta,” said one student during the group discussion. It provided them a good opportunity to get some hints to relieve stress.

    Mar.14(Sun.) Career Talk 2021 (OUIAA, CIEE)

    “Career Talk 2021” was held by OUIAA online.

    There were 19 participants in the event. After a brief introduction of OUIAA, Executive Vice President of Global Engagement, GENTA KAWAHARA gave a welcome speech to all the participants. JUAN MANUEL ARRIOLA AGUILAR, MAHDI CHOYEKH, and NIMA BAIDAR talked about their job-hunting experiences and their career paths after graduation, followed by an active Q&A session between the presenters and participants.

    Jan.29(Fri.) OUISA Hour~SUDAN~ (OUISA)

    Jan. 29 (Fri.), 2021, 12:10-
    “OUISA Hour~SUDAN~” was held by OUISA onsite at IRIS and online simultaneously.
    The number of participants were nine international students onsite, and four international students online. ALI SHYMAA ALI SAEED and MOHAMMED MARWA ALI EL HUSSIEN, who are both graduate students, presented about their home country, Sudan. They made an interesting explanation from cultural heritage to lifestyle, and after the presentation, participants actively engaged in Q&A session.

    Jan.7 (Thu.) Kakizome(Calligraphy) Event (Minoh B.S.P.)

    “Kakizome” was held by Minoh B.S.P. at the CIEE Minoh Branch. The number of participants were two international students and eight local students. The international students experienced the event of New Year’s Day in Japan and they had a good time.

    Jan.7(Thu.) Let’s experience Japanese New Year(Suita B.S.P.)

    Jan. 7 (Thur.), 2021, 12:00-
    “Let’s experience Japanese New Year” was held by Suita B.S.P. at IRIS.
    The number of participants were four international students and three local students. They enjoyed Kakizome (calligraphy), Fukuwarai (making a funny face), spinning tops, and traditional card games, which are traditionally held on New Year’s Day in Japan.

    “KAKIZOME” was held by Toyonaka B.S.P. at the CIEE Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants were seven international students and seven local students. They enjoyed writing their new year’s resolution with a writing brush.
