  Calligraphy Event (B.S.P. Toyonaka)
  

  May 12^th (Mon.), 2025,12:15- A “Calligraphy Event” organized by B.S.P. Toyonaka was held, with 10 international students and 8 local students participating. B.S.P. members explained the basics of calligraphy to the international students, many of whom were experiencing it for the first time. Each student chose and wrote a word of their own. It was a great opportunity for the international students to experience Japanese culture, and a chance for the local students to practice calligraphy again after a while.

  Takoyaki Making Event
  

  On May 13th (Tue.), 2025, at 12:15, a “Takoyaki Making Event” was held at IRIS, hosted by B.S.P. Suita.

  A total of 8 international students and 16 local students participated.

  Divided into three groups, they enjoyed making original takoyaki using ingredients such as octopus, mochi, and sausage.

  Many participants were making takoyaki for the first time.

  With unique and creative ingredients, everyone had fun experimenting with flavors.

  The event offered a great opportunity to experience Osaka’s food culture and deepen international exchange.

  Welcome Party ( B.S.P. Minoh)
  

  On April. 28st (Mon.), 18:30-, on the 5th floor of Research and Education Hub,” Welcome Party” was held by B.S.P. Minoh. The number of participants was 48 international students and 23 local students. A warm and fun welcome party was held where students enjoyed interacting with each other through games played by international and local students.

  Welcome Party (B.S.P. Toyonaka)
  

  April 25^th (Fri.), 2025,17:30- “Welcome Party” was held at Assembly Hall by Toyonaka B.S.P. The number of participants was 50 international students and 36 local students. The party started with a bingo game, followed by a variety of quizzes. And this time, there were booths for bean-catching, beer pong, Jenga, and other games, and participants had time to interact with each other while enjoying their favorite games. Through quizzes and games, the conversation naturally became lively, and it was a very good opportunity for exchange, full of smiles.

  Melon Bread Making（B.S.P. Minoh)
  

  On April 24th (Thu.),  Making Melon Bread class was held by Minoh B.S.P. at 5th Fl., Minoh Branch. The number of participants was 15 international students and 3 local students.The international student who is good at bread baking led the class. The dough was prepared during the lunch break, left to ferment in during afternoon classes, and baked in the evening. It was a fun and memorable day, with participants cheering as they baked authentic and delicious melon bread.

  On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 12:10 PM, a French Language Café organized by OUISA was held at IRIS, with six international students participating. OUISA members prepared games such as word-guessing games, and all the participants seemed to enjoy learning French very much.

  Card Game Gathering in Suita（B.S.P. Suita）
  

  On April 22nd (Tue.), 2025, at 12:15, B.S.P. Suita hosted a “Card Game Gathering in Suita” at IRIS.

  9 international students and 5 local students participated. 

   

  Participants enjoyed deepening their friendships through fun card games like Sevens and Concentration.

  IRIS was filled with laughter and the playful frustration of those who lost.

  Even after the games ended, everyone kept chatting, and the excitement lingered.

  Welcome Event – B.S.P. Suita
  

  On Friday, April 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m., B.S.P. Suita hosted a "Welcome Event" at the IC Hall on the Suita Campus.

  The event was attended by 37 international students and 16 local students.

   

  Participants were divided into groups and enjoyed games and quizzes together,

  creating a cheerful and friendly atmosphere.

  Even those meeting for the first time naturally began conversations, and after the event,

  many students continued chatting and were already making new friends.

  Daily Life Orientation(OUISA)
  

  On Friday, April 18, 2025, starting at 12:10 PM, the Daily Life Orientation organized by OUISA was held at IRIS. A total of 19 international students participated.
  OUISA members explained a wide range of topics to the students, including administrative procedures, how to use buses and trains, and unique Japanese manners. The participants listened attentively and showed great interest in the information shared.

  April 10th, - 17th , 12:30- 13:20 “Lunch party” was held by B.S.P. Minoh at 5th Fl., Minoh Branch.
  The total number of participants was 25 international students and 38 local students.B.S.P. members answered questions from participants and chatted with them in Japanese and English.They made new friends and enjoyed talking every day.

  On Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 12:15 PM, the "English Café" hosted by B.S.P. Suita was held at IRIS,

  with 8 international students and 2 local students participating.

  Although many of the students were meeting for the first time,

  they quickly warmed up to each other and enjoyed lively conversations on various topics,

  including upcoming events hosted by B.S.P. Suita.

  This semester, the English Café and Japanese Café will be held alternately every Thursday at 12:15 PM at IRIS.

  2025年4月17日（木）12:15～、B.S.P.吹田による「英語カフェ」がIRISにて開催され、留学生8名および日本人等一般学生2名が参加しました。

  多くの学生が初対面でしたが、すぐに打ち解け、今後、B.S.P.吹田で開催されるイベントについて等、さまざまな話題で会話が盛り上がりました。

  今学期は、英語カフェと日本語カフェを交互に、毎週木曜日12:15よりIRISで開催します。

  On Thursday April 10, 2025, from 12:15 PM, the "Japanese Café" hosted by B.S.P. Suita was held at IRIS, with 8 international students and 5 local students participating.

  Although many students were meeting for the first time, they quickly warmed up to each other, engaging in lively conversations about their hobbies and introducing themselves.

  This semester, the Japanese Café and English Café will alternate weekly, with sessions held every Thursday at 12:15 PM at IRIS.

  On April 9th (Wed.), 15:00-, Campus Tour was held by B.S.P. Minoh. The number of participants was 19 international students and 6 local students. B.S.P. members and new international students walked together inside the building of Minoh Campus. After the tour, they enjoyed chatting.

  Hanami & Picnic  (B.S.P. Minoh)
  

  On April 5th (Sat.), 12:30-, “Hanami & Picnic” was held by Minoh B.S.P. It was a perfect day for cherry blossom viewing. The participants were 19 international students and 9 local students. They enjoyed walking around the Expo ’70 Commemorative Park,chatting, playing frisbee and badminton etc. It was a great opportunity to make friends with each other including new international students.

  Campus tour＠Suita （OUISA and B.S.P. Suita.）
  

  April 9th (Wed.), 2025, 12:00-, a campus tour was held at the Suita Campus, organized by OUISA and B.S.P. Suita.

  The number of participants was 29 international students and 3 local students.

  Senior student volunteers guided the newly arrived international students around useful and important locations on the Suita Campus and enjoyed lunch together with the participants.

   

  The volunteer students kindly answered participants’ questions while showing them around the campus.

  The tour was filled with lively conversations and served as a great opportunity for students to connect and deepen their interactions.

  Question and Consultation Session＠Suita campus（OUISA and B.S.P. Suita）
  

  A consultation session organized by OUISA and B.S.P. Suita was held at IRIS on Monday, April 7, 2025, starting at 14:30. A total of 10 international students and 2 local students participated.

  The OUISA and B.S.P. Suita members introduced their activities and answered various questions from the participants, including those about the Inter-Campus Shuttle Bus Service

   and classes. After the Q&A session, the participants enjoyed a relaxed time connecting with one another, making it a valuable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

  April 3rd (Thu.) 13:00-, 4th (Fri.) 14:30-, 2025, “Campus Tour” and “Chatting” were held by B.S.P. Toyonaka. The number of participants was 86 international students and 9 local students over 2 days. B.S.P members guided new international students around the Toyonaka campus, and after the tour, they chatted and enjoyed talking to each other. With cherry blossoms in full bloom, this event was a great opportunity for them to meet each other.

  April 3rd (Thu.), 2025, 12:00-, Campus Tour was held by OUISA, B.S.P.Suita, and volunteers. The number of participants was 61 international students and 6 local students.

  The coordinator students provided detailed explanations about Suita Campus, allowing new international students and senior students to explore the campus together and interact with each other.

  On Saturday, Mach.22nd, 2025, from 13:00 p.m., 17 international students and 1 local student participated in the "City Walk ~ National Museum of Ethnology ~" organized by OUISA.

  Participants said that they were able to interact with other participants and that the museum was very nice.

  February 18th (Tue), 17:30-, on the 5th floor of Research and Education Hub, ” Farewell Party” was held by B.S.P. Minoh. The number of participants was 24 international students and 7 local students. Through games performed by international and local students, enjoying communication among students, a warm and fun Farewell Party was held.

  The language Café was held by B.S.P. Minoh for this semester.From October to January, it was 57 cafés in 16 different languages, with the total participation of 351 international students and 250 local students. It was a great opportunity to make friends among for the participants. Language Café will also be held in the next semester of 2025.

  February 3^rd (Mon.), 2025, 15:00- “Semester Party” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 10 international students and 8 local students. They enjoyed making original cakes while interacting with each other. All participants including students returning home this semester had a great time together.

  OUISA hosted a Bingo Night at IRIS on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 5:00 pm. Nine international students and one local student participated. The participants enjoyed the game while deepening new connections. It seems that it provided a good break for them from their schoolwork.

  On January 23rd (Thu.), 2025, from 12:15 PM, "Traditional Play Event" was held by B.S.P. Suita at IRIS.

  The event was attended by 8 international students and 4 local students.

  Participants enjoyed traditional Japanese games such as spinning tops and Hyakunin Isshu (poetry card game),

  sharing enjoyable moments while experiencing and immersing themselves in Japanese culture and tradition.

  January 22^nd (Wed.), 2025, 12:15- “Japanese Cafe”, the last one of this semester, was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants of the semester was 218 international students and 95 local students in total. They got to interact with students from various countries/regions, faculties, and grades in Japanese Café. The cafes were always lively and enjoyable events. In addition to Japanese cafe, they enjoyed writing farewell messages, today.

  Gyoza (dumplings) making event (OUISA)
  

  On Thursday, January 16, 2025, OUISA hosted a Gyoza making event at IRIS from 12:00 pm. Nine international students participated. Participants wrapped ingredients in gyoza skin, baked them on a hot plate, and enjoyed freshly baked gyoza together. The authentic gyoza with feathers were made, and it was a very tasty and enjoyable exchange.

  Kansai Dialect Café
  

  January 16th (Thu.), 2025, 12:15 – A “Kansai Dialect Café” was held by B.S.P. Suita at IRIS.

  The event welcomed 10 international students and 2 local students as participants.

  Under the friendly guidance of the B.S.P. members, participants learned the unique features and basic phrases of Kansai dialect.

  They also practiced the dialect’s distinctive intonation, often laughing out loud at surprising differences or humorous mispronunciations.

  In a cheerful and lively atmosphere, participants enjoyed the fun of conversing in Kansai dialect while experiencing a new cultural perspective.

  January 15th (Wed.), 2025, 12:15 – A “Calligraphy Event” was held by B.S.P. Suita at IRIS.

  The event welcomed 10 international students and 6 local students as participants.

  Under the thoughtful guidance of the B.S.P. members, participants learned the proper use of brushes and fundamental calligraphy techniques.

  They eagerly participated, enjoying the process of expressing their names and New Year’s aspirations in Kanji.

  New Year Event Week (B.S.P. Toyonaka)
  

  January 6^th (Mon.) ～9^th (Thu.), “New Year Event Week ～Karuta Event, Kakizome (Japanese Callirgaphy), Japanese Café, Ozoni Event～” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 37 international students and 22 local students, in total. At the beginning, B.S.P. member explained how to write Japanese calligraphy, and then participants enjoyed writing their favorite words in Kakizome Event. In Ozoni Event, participants had a great time while eating Ozoni with white miso soup prepared by B.S.P. member. They got to interact with topics such as New Year’s Day, New Year’s dish and so on in Japanese Café.

  Mochi Cooking Event (B.S.P. Suita)
  

  On January 9th, 2025, at 12:15 PM, B.S.P. Suita hosted a "Mochi Cooking Event" at IRIS.

  7 international students and 6 local students participated, using a hot plate to grill slices of mochi.

  Participants enjoyed adjusting the grilling time to their liking and savored the fragrant aroma as the mochi cooked.

  They also enjoyed customizing their grilled mochi with toppings like soy sauce, kinako, and red bean paste, creating their own unique flavors.

  The delicious scent of grilling mochi filled IRIS, and everyone enjoyed eating together, deepening connections in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

  January 7^th (Tue.), 12:30-13:30, on the 5^th floor of “Research and Education Hub”, “KAKIZOME ” (First calligraphy of the year) was held by B.S.P. Minoh. The number of participants was 12 international students and 9 local students. The international students experienced the traditional event of Japanese New Year, and they had a good time.

  Soba Event (B.S.P. Toyonaka)
  

  December 26^th (Thu.), 2024, 12:15- “Soba Event” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 4 international students and 11 local students. They enjoyed eating soba (buckwheat noodles) topped with seaweed, green onion, fish cake and freshly made bonito broth. The event was a great opportunity for them.

  Japanese/English Café (B.S.P. Suita)
  

  On Tuesday, December 24th, at 12:15 PM, the final Language Café (Japanese Café) of this semester was held by B.S.P. Suita at IRIS.

  This semester, a total of 11 sessions were conducted from October to December, with 77 international students and 41 local students participating.

  It was a great opportunity for participants to make new friends.

  The Language Café will continue in the Spring-Summer semester of 2025.

  December 24^th (Tue.), 2024, 12:15- “Cookie Event” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 10 international students and 4 local students. They enjoyed making original cookies, using various cookie cutters and colorful chocolates topping.They had a great time while eating freshly made cookies.

  Night Walk～NAKANOSHIMA (B.S.P. Toyonaka)
  

  December 18^th (Fri.), 2024,18:00- “Night Walk Event” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka. The number of participants was ９ international students and ４ local students. It was cold, but they enjoyed the illuminations, including those at Nakanoshima Public Hall and the Osaka Expo character "Myakumyaku," while walking through winter in Osaka.

  Secret Gift Swap (OUISA)
  

  On Friday, December 20th, 2024, at 16:30, a Secret Gift Swap organized by OUISA was held at IC Hall. Thirteen international students and one local student participated.

  Participants enjoyed specially made spiced tea and hot chocolate while playing games and exchanged gifts with each other. They had a peaceful time together before the vacation.

  Handmade Udon Noodle Making Event (B.S.P. Suita)
  

  On December 20th, 2024, at 12:15 PM, B.S.P. Suita hosted a "Handmade Udon Noodle Making Event" at IRIS.

  14 international students and 5 local students participated, dividing into two groups to enjoy making their own original udon noodles using ingredients like flour, water, and salt.

  Many participants were making udon noodles for the first time, and each of them put their creativity into kneading, rolling, and cutting the dough to complete their noodles.

  The delicious aroma of freshly cooked udon filled IRIS, and everyone enjoyed eating the noodles together, creating a wonderful opportunity to deepen connections.

  December 12th (Thu.), 2024, 12:15- “Japanese Oden & Korean Tteokbokki Event” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 17 international students and 6 local students. They got to know each other while enjoying eating Japanese Oden with dried bonito broth and Tteokbokki.

  December.13th(Fri.),2024,18:00-,“Night Walk-Midosuji” was held by OUISA ＆ B.S.P. Suita.

  The number of participants was 23 international students and 12 local students.

  The group strolled along Midosuji, admiring the vibrant illumination of the ginkgo-lined avenue and enjoying the beauty of Japan’s winter atmosphere.

  "OUISA HOUR ~Croatia~"
  

  "OUISA HOUR ~Croatia~" by OUISA was held at IRIS on December 12 (Thursday) from 12:10 p.m. Eight international students participated in person, and one local student joined online. This time,  Sonja from Croatia gave a presentation about her native country.
  She introduced Croatian culture, beautiful places, food, history, famous sports, and more. The participants listened to her talk with great interest. After the presentation, an active Q&A session took place, offering participants a valuable opportunity to engage with a different culture.

  Malaysian Cuisine Event～Let’s make Nasi Lemak! (B.S.P. Toyonaka)
  

  December 6^th (Fri.), 2024,12:15- “Malaysian Cuisine Event” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was ６ international students and ６ local students. First, B.S.P. explained about Malaysia, and then everyone made and ate Nasi Lemak, Malaysia's national dish. The event was a great opportunity with Malaysian Food Culture.

  New Year Card Creation Event
  

  On Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at 12:15 PM, the “New Year Card Creation Event” was held.

  The event was attended by 10 international students and 4 local students.

  Participants first used computers to design their New Year cards and printed them out.

  They then added handwritten messages and illustrations to create their own personalized cards.

  Some participants incorporated photos of memorable moments from the this year into their designs,

  while others challenged themselves to write messages in Japanese.

  Day Trip ～Osaka Castle and Osaka Museum of Housing and Living～ (B.S.P. Toyonaka)
  

  November 30th (Sat.), 2024, 10:00- “Day Trip～Osaka Castle and Osaka Museum of Housing and Living～” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka. The number of participants was 11 international students and 5 local students. They really enjoyed seeing re-created buildings and streets in Osaka from the Edo period to the Showa Eara including a Showa style classroom and Osaka Castle with beautiful autumn leaves. The event was a great off-campus opportunity for them with nice weather.

  On November 15th & 29th(Fri.), 17:30 -, on the 5th floor of Research and Education Hub, Cooking Party “Making TAKOYAKI ” was held by B.S.P. Minoh.The number of participants was 18 international students and 12 local students. Participants of international students, who had never made TAKOYAKI before, were also able to have a good time of exchange through detailed explanations by B.S.P. members, who are used to making TAKOYAKI.

  November 26^th (Tue), 2024, 12:15- “World Snack Party” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 15 international students and 3 local students. They enjoyed interacting with each other while eating a wide variety of snacks, such as Japanese rice cake, Korean snack, Germany gummy, Scottish shortbread and so on. The event was a great opportunity for them.

  Tea Party (B.S.P. Toyonaka)
  

  November 22^nd (Fri.), 2024, 12:15- “Tea Party” was held by B.S.P.Toyonaka at Toyonaka Branch. The number of participants was 6 international students and 5 local students. At the beginning, B.S.P. member explained various Japanese tea such as roasted green tea, middle-grade green tea and its history. One of the members showed participants how to serve Matcha green tea, and then, participants enjoyed not only drinking Japanese tea but also Casual Japanese Tea Ceremony with Japanese sweets. The event was a great opportunity for them.

  Sweet Potato Making Event (B.S.P. Suita)
  

  On November 22nd, 2024, at 12:15 PM, B.S.P. Suita hosted a "Sweet Potato Making Event" at IRIS.

  14 international students and 7 local students participated, dividing into three groups to enjoy making their own original sweet potatoes using ingredients like sweet potatoes, butter, and sugar.

  Many participants were making sweet potatoes for the first time,

  and each of them used their creativity to shape and bake their sweet potatoes.

  The sweet aroma of the roasting sweet potatoes filled IRIS, and everyone gathered to enjoy the finished products while drinking tea,

  making it a wonderful opportunity to deepen connections.

  Sports Festival 2024　 (OUISA)
  

  On Saturday, November 16, “Sports Festival 2024” organized by OUISA was held at the gymnasium on the Suita Campus from 10:00 a.m., with 35 international students and 3 local students participating.

  Participants tried a variety of sports, from ball games such as futsal and basketball to tug-of-war, arm wrestling, and Pilates yoga, and worked up a good sweat.

  A chess tournament was also held this time and was a lot of fun. New encounters were made and everyone enjoyed the exercise and socializing.

  On November 13th (Wed.), 2024, at 12:15, B.S.P. Suita hosted a “Card Game Gathering in Suita” at IRIS.

  3 international students and 4 local students participated. 

  Although the group was small, everyone enjoyed bonding through various card games, including Sevens and Old Maid.

  Laughter filled the room at IRIS as students raised their voices, trying to guess who held the Old Maid card, and the surprise on the face of the final unlucky player drew more laughter. The event created a lively atmosphere full of lighthearted tension and joy.
