African Students' Association in Osaka Official Introduction Ceremony (ASAO)

On Friday, May 30, the founding event of the African Students Association in Osaka (ASAO) was held at the IC Hall on the Suita Campus. ASAO aims to build a supportive network among African students at the University of Osaka and other universities across the Kansai region by fostering mutual support and sharing experiences related to academics, daily life, culture, and career development.

The event featured speeches by Mr. Ajak E.A. Garang, one of the co-founders, and Mr. Michel-Meekman B. Ausse, the current president. It also included a lively African dance session with participation from attendees, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout.

Going forward, ASAO will continue to connect current African students and alumni, organize events that celebrate Africas rich diversity, and promote intercultural exchange to share Africas positive imageserving as a cultural bridge between Africa and Japan. Anyone interested in joining future activities is warmly welcomed.
