Introduction to Materials Physics

Objective
   This course will provide an introduction to experimental and theoretical of materials physics including the latest outstanding results. The students will learn the basic overview of the cutting-edge materials physics in natural science.

Course Schedule
   -15 lectures will cover various fields of materials physics:
     strongly correlated electron systems,
     extraordinary properties of matter under high-pressures,
     analysis of condensed matter by synchrotron radiation,
     nano-scale science and photophysics,
     nano-scale fabrication of semiconductors,
     spin-electronics, molecular electronics,
     NMR spectroscopy, quantum information, and so on.

Grading

• 50% will be based on participation (10/3 % for each class).
• 50% will be based on Short Essays on 4 lectures you have interest. Essay should be sent by e-mail to the relevant lecturer until the end of next week of the relevant lecture.
