Objective
   The objective of this course is to focus on the environmental impact of the construction and recycling of buildings and in the importance of the life cycle prediction and maintenance for sustainability of concrete buildings. This course outlines the basic concepts of concrete structures, deterioration of structures and materials, inspections, diagnosis, repair, strengthening and maintenance of structures.

    (5) Material Deterioration Mechanism (Carbonation, Chloride Ion)
    (6) Material Deterioration Mechanism (Alkali silica reaction, Freezing and thawing cycles)
    (7) Material Deterioration Mechanism (Fire)
    (8)-(9) Maintenance (Inspection and diagnosis of concrete, Techniques of non destructive tests)
    (10)-(11) Maintenance (Repairing techniques)
    (12) Visiting to Testing Facilities or construction site
    (13) Strengthening and retrofitting
    (14)-(15) Students Oral Presentation

   Attendance 15%
