Objective
This course will relate to the chemical substances and chemistry-based topics, which include inorganic materials and biomolecules. The current frontiers in molecular sciences will be introduced for students with no chemistry background.

No particular textbook will be used.

Course Schedule
In the lectures, the following five topics will be presented.
1. An introduction of quantum chemistry
2. Current topics in reaction dynamics in relation with environmental problems
3. Metal complexes and related topics
4. Current topics in new carbon materials in relation to nanoscience
5. Biomolecules in membranes; the mode of antibiotics actions

Grading
Evaluation will be based on class participation (50%) and report (50%).
