Course Objective
This course provides an overview of human aging in diverse populations from a multidisciplinary and developmental perspective.
Along with a macro view of the demographic changes of global population aging, Japan will be the object of special examination.
The course will focus on the adult years of the life span and society through the bio-physiological, psycho-mental, and social aspects.
Students will understand the process of human aging and aging societies by learning a variety of concepts, theories, and contemporary issues.

In addtion to a series of lectures by the instructor, the course participants are expected to share their knowledge and experiences and discuss in the class.
Textbooks
There is no specific assigned textbook.
Various reading materials (e.g. journal articles, newspaper articles, etc.) and references may be distributed in the class.
