Promoting "Human Rights Education"

Objective
   In this globalized world, there is an increasing need to understand and respect people each other in local, regional and global levels. How can we fulfill the need? The answer could be "Human Rights," which establish the norm of conduct for people and are provided equally to all. Education plays an inevitable role to provide students with opportunity to learn "Human Rights." This course will give you the knowledge and skills of "Human Rights." It aims at changing their attitude through learning Human Rights. In order to achieve the aim, students are expected to positively participate in discussion.

Course Schedule

    (1) Introduction: What is Human Rights?
    (2) Discuss: How we can achieve "Justice and Peace"?
    (3) Discuss: Is Human Rights Education just an ideal?
    (4) Discuss: Which right do you think the most important?
    (5) Discuss: Is Human Rights effective?
    (6) Discuss: Women's Human Rights
    (7) Discuss: Millennium Development Goals
    (8) Workshop: UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
    (9) Discuss: Values, Cultures and Human Rights
    (10) Discuss: Citizenship Education and Human Rights
    (11) Discuss: Human Rights, Politics and Schooling
    (12) Prepare for an Action Plan in Group
    (13)-(14) Group Presentation
    (15) Final Test
