Objective
The main objective of this course is to provide analytical explanations about
the theory of economics and applications to the Japanese economy. The quantitative
analysis using the data will be applied to understand the structure of the Japanese
economy and its current problems. Among topics discussed in lectures are: the
nature and function of the market, inflation and deflation, fiscal and monetary
policies, international trade, labor economics, and the Japanese economy in
the 90s and 00s.
