Objective
Research performed in the Department of Earth and Space Science covers vast areas of natural sciences, ranging from studies of cosmology to those on the biological evolution of life.

Textbook
There is no assigned textbook.

Course Schedule
This year, we present a series of lectures on five themes:
(1) The origin and evolution of the universe.
(2) The origin and evolution of our solar system and the earth.
(3) A tour to the center of the earth: the world of extremely high pressure.
(4) A perspective in material science: the world of quantum theory.
(5) Evolution of bio-molecules and life on the earth.

Grading
Evaluation will be based on class attendance (50%) and reports (50%).
