WORK AND FAMILY IN JAPAN

Objective
This course is an overview of the 'fit' between work and family in contemporary Japan. Exploring the situations that dual-income families and others experience as they try to balance the conflicting demands of work and family, we will identify both the factors that cause the problem and various solutions. A detailed syllabus will be distributed at the first meeting.

Evaluation
Evaluation will be by examination and some sort of paper. *Lectures will be in English, but examinations and reports may be done in Japanese.
