01s-2 Arts in/from/to Japan

Osamu YAMAGUTI, et al. (Graduate School of Letters)

Objective A variety of arts created and/or performed in Japan from the distant past through the recent past up to the present will be presented. In addition, discussion will be made as to how the foreign influences were, have been, and are being seen. Furthermore, Japanese influences over foreign countries will be dealt with. The art forms discussed will cover paintings, sculpture, literature, theatre and music. All the fourteen staff members (professors and associate professors) belonging to the departments of art history and the science of arts will take turn for the lectures.
